Wednesday we went to the beach for the morning. It was beautiful. The sand here is really fine and the water was cold but do-able. The weather was gorgeous. Really the only drawback would be the hazards hidden in the sand. It's not all baby dolls and tires. We found a face-sized mirror shard half buried right on the water line. How in the world?!
At any rate, the beach is awesome. We are smack dab in the middle of one of the biggest holidays in the Middle East, Eid al-Adha. We've had a few days off work. Today we are going with our supervisor from the Foundation to his home outside Tyre for celebrations and to spend the night. Tomorrow we'll travel back up to Beirut for the Lebanon/Syria retreat. I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week! We have had zero buildup so it's continually shocking to me when I remember it's late November already. Happy Holidays!
