First Rain!

It rained on Saturday! And again on Sunday! Welcome, welcome rain. It seems to have marked the change in season here. (I really hope I'm not jinxing it). The days are not sweltering anymore, and the nights are downright chilly. You can't so much see the signs of autumn here - no changing leaves or pumpkins or long dark days. This rain and the colder nights are the only indication we have that we might be sliding towards winter. This week has been the first time Ryan and I have missed being home. Oh, we've missed friends and companionship and family, but haven't really wanted to be back in the U.S. But we see on blogs and in the news that Halloween is coming, and hot lattes are replacing iced and knitted accessories are being donned.  For Ryan it's not so much the lattes and fingerless gloves as it is FOOTBALL.  We'll miss our favorite season.

Although.  IF our visas come through in the next couple of weeks, we might make it to Tehran in time to catch a bit of their autumn.  A lot more trees and higher elevation just might do the trick!  In the meantime, we'll just be super delighted that it rained in Amman.
