Good news!! I am opening the comments on this blog. For two reasons.
1. I have been monitoring Google Analytics for the past four months and haven't seen a single visit from a server in Iran. Of course this doesn't necessarily mean that smart people in Iran haven't figured out a way to view my blog without it showing up on Google Analytics. But I'm just going to pretend I'm quite clever and have eluded the authorities.
2. The bigger reason: I am missing the interaction of blogging. Half the fun is getting feedback and starting conversations, and in some awesome and rare situations, striking up new friendships!
So please, comment away! You can even go back to old posts and throw in your opinion. I have turned on the administrator approval setting, which means your comments won't show up until I see them first and okay them. Maybe at some point in the future we'll have a handle on all the regional sensitivities and will be able to open up comments full-stop. In the meantime, this step feels good to me.

P.S. I'm having some technical difficulties with the comments. Right now you can't see the comment link below each post. If you click on the title of the post you want to comment on, you'll be taken to a different page where you can comment. I have no idea what is going on, but I'm working on it to make the whole process easier for you =).
Yay! When you left, I subscribed to your blog on my Google Reader, so I get notified whenever you post a new entry. It's been so fun to go "virtually" sight-seeing with you. Lifting you up from Davis!

ReplyDeleteYay for comments! Hope you guys are settling in well to Lebanon. It's been fun to follow your travels thus far. Those caves that you visited were AMAZING! I'm having some travel jealousy right now as I am fairly confined due to the restraints of having two small kids! :)
